September 7-12
Homecoming and revival services at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, Barboursville, begin Sunday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. with a luncheon following the service. At 3 p.m. the Rev. Dr. Herbert Dickerson, pastor of Orange Grove Mission Baptist Church in Durham, NC will be guest speaker. Rev. Dickerson will be the revivalist for the week Sept. 8-12 at 7:30 p.m.; various choirs will provide the music each night.

September 7-14
Emmanuel Christian Center Holy Convocation "Spiritual Awakening God's Way" will be held Sept. 7-14 with Sunday services held at William Monroe High School Auditorium, 254 Monroe Drive, Stanardsville and Monday-Friday services held at Emmanuel Christian Center, 14343 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville. September 12
A Gospel Sing will be held Friday, Sept. 12 at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, Orange, (take Rt. 20 north of Orange to Rt. 631 across from Orange County Airport, go to white church on right). A covered-dish dinner begins at 6 p.m., everyone welcomed; 7 p.m. open stage and the featured group will be the Traveling Pilgrims with Old Time Way. September 14-19

Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church will be having a Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, September 14. This will be our 147th year as a congregation in this community. Worship service will be at 11:00 am. Edward and Elizabeth Wright will be bringing God's message. They are both retired Untied Methodist ministers with a vacation home in Greene County. After the worship service, there will be a covered dish luncheon at the church shelter. Everyone is welcome.

Homecoming and revival services at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Tanners, begin Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Willie Crenshaw, choir and congregation from Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Orange. The Rev. Lanier Twyman of St. Stephen's Baptist Church, Temple Hills, Maryland will be the revivalist for the week (Sept. 15-19). Call the church office 540-672-9065 if you have questions.

Registration continues through September 19th for the 3rd Women In Worship Conference to be held at the Hospitality House and Conference Center in Fredericksburg, VA on September 26-27 sponsored by Wayland Blue Ridge Women's Auxiliary and Friends. The Conference check-in on Friday begins at 10 a.m. and the EXPO with vendors and mini-informational sessions begins at 12:00 noon. The guest speaker is Cynthia Brazelton, Victory Christian Ministries, Washington, D.C. and Vicinity, also Rev. Tammie Armstead Pulliam and Rev. Janice Steels, Victory in Christ Ministries. Musical guests include Missy "OCTAVIA" Yates and Psalmist Eric Armstead. October 25
The Women's Ministry of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Tanners, will be hosting a trip to Lancaster, PA to see "In the Beginning" October 25. For reservation call Mrs. Jean Wood at (540) 672-3717 or the church office at 672-9065.

Swift Run Baptist Church is getting children connected to God; parents bring your children to join us for our exciting Children's Church. We will be exploring fun and creative ways to learn God's word on Sundays at 11 a.m. Swift Run Baptist early worship begins at 9 a.m., Sunday school at 10, morning worship at 11 and 7 p.m. on Sunday evenings. Tuesday's Table is a ministry providing a free meal to anyone in need, whether the need is economic, spiritual, fellowship, or whatever (no questions asked) and is held every Tuesday night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Stanardsville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Court Street (across from the Courthouse) in downtown Stanardsville. Food is provided and prepared by Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church, Mt. Vernon, Stanardsville, Mountain View and Westover United Methodist churches, Spring Hill Baptist Church, Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church and other service organizations.
