During the month of July, the Greene County Food Bank is requesting donations of canned green beans and canned corn. Donations can be dropped off at Social Services, 10009 Spotswood Trail (old Rt. 33), Stanardsville, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Your tax-deductible money donations to the food bank can be mailed to the Woman's Club of Greene County, P. A lawn party will be held at South River Church on Saturday, July 12 beginning at 4 p.m. There will be fried chicken, country ham, mutton and lots of veggies and desserts. Please join us.

Is your son interested in playing youth football? Boys ages 8 to 13 are needed to participate in the area youth football league. Thomas Jefferson Youth Football League is currently enrolling for the fall season. On July 19 starting at 2 p.m. at Orange Booster Park, many individuals and businesses from the community of Orange will be sponsoring a fundraising event to assist with raising money for the "Adam McGinnis Medical Fund." This benefit event will include entertainment such as live music, games (for all ages) and food. There will be door prizes, an auction, as well as other items for sale; all of which have been graciously donated by members of our community.
