Scholars often credit fourth century B.C. Greek Golden Age philosopher Aristotle with providing the oldest known definition of perfection. In his book “Delta of the Metaphysics,” Aristotle defines perfection as, “That is perfect which is complete; which contains all the requisite parts; which is so good that nothing of the kind could be better; which has attained its purpose.” While we’re no scholars, it does seem to us that after what happened in Richmond’s Siegel Center Friday evening, it’s time to update that definition of perfection to include this year’s Madison County High School boys basketball team.
