Greene County’s Chapter of Habitat for Humanity is making great strides!  It has recently broken ground on yet another house, this time in Ruckersville.  We’re getting excellent volunteer turnout and contributions from individuals, corporations, churches, and non-profit organizations have been heartening.  We’re now looking for volunteers who might want to get involved with Habitat but who aren’t inclined to lift a hammer and drive a nail.  Thus, the Chapter is recruiting for its Resource Development Committee.  We need Committee members who will help us achieve our fundraising targets for the house we would like to begin in 2010.  This could entail meeting with business owners, writing letters to corporations and, importantly, searching out and pursuing grants from the profit and not-for-profit sectors.  While prior experience in grant writing or fundraising would be wonderful, what we really want are individuals who care about providing a means for Greene Country residents to obtain affordable housing.  We’re all doing the best we can with the skills we have to get the job done!  For more information contact Bill Martin, Resource Development Committee Chair.  Email:  .  Phone:  434-996-3726.
