Everyone likes to feel wanted. Everyone likes to believe that they have something to attribute to others. Everyone likes to fit in. Everyone has a desire to advance in life. Everyone is each one of us who believes that God has made us for purpose and has gifted us to fulfill that purpose.
The Bible states that “a man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men,“ Prov. 18:16. Our biggest problem is that we don’t exercise our God-given gift to the benefit of others and therefore we are left out. Oh, if only we would exercise our gift so that others could be blessed, we would find that there is “room” for us and not only that, but we would also see that our gift would be the means for our advancement in life.
For example, when the Apostle Paul met the Lord on the road to Damascus he asked the Lord, “ What wilt thou have me do?“ The Lord answered, “ Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do”, Acts 9:6. Paul was a very gifted man and he used his gifts to fulfill God’s given purpose for his life. Yes, he brought blessings to others and honor to God and using his gifts he continued to press upward in life. Now we cannot be an Apostle Paul. But we can be who we are and use the gifts God has given us and fulfill the purpose that God has created us for. May our prayers be,
“Lord what would you have me do?”
